Dear Poetry
A refuge from my pinching pains,
A shelter to soothe my sharp strains,
Poetry is my wonder light,
A whisper soft, a sudden flight.
A true friend in my loneliness,
It helps relieve my weariness
With simple words that waltz and glow,
Melodic rhythms that beat and flow.
A mirror to reflect my ache,
A cute means to keep me awake
In darkness of the gloomy night,
It helps me scan my inner light.
A means to express nature`s love,
Regards for seasons with their dove,
Warmth for the moonlight and the stars,
For fauna and flora afar.
A channel to vent gratitude
To the Lord for His rectitude,
Saving me from clutches of death,
Restoring anew a low breath.
At four times, urgent scalpels gleamed,
A fading strength, a waking dream,
But with the Lord`s grace, I came through,
My spirit arose, fresh and true.
Though, in aftermath, ache lingers,
I humbly cross my palms` fingers,
Script simple songs, a humble plea,
To thank the Lord, eternally.
Carving verses drips in me joy,
That in my leisure, I enjoy,
The quiet hum of awareness,
A kindred spirit of wellness.
In the sunlight of poetry,
A subtle art and a beauty,
Feelings find their voice and their form,
A shelter from the passing storm.
Rhymes and structure, I much adore,
They help carve beauty at the core,
Lend lovely lines to imagery
And, as a whole, shape symmetry.
An aid to discipline my life
When the whole world turns wanton rife,
Rhymed verses, structure and a flow
Rest across time, shining aglow.
A simple verse, a turn of art,
Can mend a broken, weary heart
Or stir a fire, brave, bold and bright
And fill the soul with guiding light.
I love the way that thoughts can gleam
From my soul`s shine, a silent stream,
The tapestry of what I feel,
Mellifluous words that can heal.
Verses build a bridge across years,
Connecting joy, smiles, hopes and tears,
A legacy of souls that spoke,
A truth that time can never choke.
With my long journey, nearly done,
My quiet spirit, nearly spun,
Poetry, a channel to share
Life lessons learnt, to souls who care.
So let the verses, softly chime,
Defying boundaries of time,
For in each line, a spirit sings,
Beauty that true poetry brings.
