Dear Night
I implore you dreary darkness
Welcome here and wrap me up
Let your dark caresses crouch under
And be the background for ghostly images
Despair and fear have imprisoned me
Worry has befriended me
Like a drummed drum,
I cry while they dance
Nightingale, sing me your song
They are not my troubles that you sing of
Nevertheless, we share the same fate fellow!
Darkness in my life will melt
When the light in my room looms no more
When frogs croak in streams and water pools
When the headlines fly over my conscious
And prick it, nay, nay
Where do I want to hide my gaze,
If not in this darkness?
