Dear John

Dear John, it won't be long
Before you read this and know I've left you
Whatever it was that made us go wrong
Please understand that I'll always blame you

Dear John, you're on your own
Please don't hate me, you have your freedom
Remember it never was my fault
Our partnership, can't ever be re-done

And if you need a clean shirt John, I've left, just one
You'll have to find the iron, and use it
you were my friend and now i find, you're not so kind
I gave you my love and let you abuse it
Na na na na na
na na na na

Dear John, We had good times
Though it sometimes felt like slavery
This lesson is hard for you to learn
I hope you're proud of my bravery

Now don't forget, when all is said
I still see red
When you are with some other woman
So don't you come near me again
I am in pain
I'm just not sure what I would do to you

Na na na na na
na na na na yeah

Dear John, I hope you're sad
Takes a bad time to make you bitter
Remember it really was all your fault
And my leaving should make you bitter
Bitter, bitter, bitter, bitter, bitter, Yeah,Yeah,Yeah

Na Na Na Na Na Na Na
Na Na Na Na, Dear John

Ok I wasn't expecting that, in the UK a "Dear John" is a term used for a letter which says "I'm leaving you" I hadn't noticed the name coincidence - sorry John, I hope you are feeling better.
