Dear Grandma

Dear grandma i am loved
The day you stood there in front of me saying no one loves me
That day i realized you were just lonely or so i thought

People always told me you belong in this world for a reason
But what is that reason so my own grandmother can tell me i'm not worth it
For her to call me a **** because i have guy friends

I get it we come from two different generations, but that is no excuse
That is no excuse to call me a ***** because i want to be with my dad and not you
That is no excuse to say i need to be different then the way my mother raised my siblings

You sit there saying you love me one minute, but your story changes life the tide of the ocean
You can be the sweet and calm tide that loves me, but then another minute
You can be the rough and aggressive tide that will pull me in to take me down.

I don't talk to those guys because i am a ****
I talk to them because we are friends
I talk to them because without them i wouldn't be standing here taking your crap anymore.

Those guy keep me alive
Those guys make me feel special
Those guys are my friends

So Dear grandma thanks for showing me i don't need you
Dear grandma thanks for showing me the light i needed in my life
Dear grandma thank you.
