Dear God

Dear God

I thought I could see beyond the
horizons of yesterday
but all I really see is darkness
it seems that I lost my way
and I know that hell is out there waiting
no matter how much I pray
but when I'm with you I have heaven
I just don't think you want me to stay
and I've tried to say I'm sorry
but those words only flow one way
so if you wanna love me, love me
if you don't, don't ask me to stay
cause you know how much I love you
and I'd like to have that someday
to see a smile or share a kiss
hold hands beneath the setting sun
a glass of tea and her and me
dreaming all about the days to come
Dear God, please send me some one
someone who will hold me closely
help me up instead of put me down
touch me when I feel lonely
smile just because I'm around
laugh and cry and tell me why
she thinks that I'm the perfect guy
still love me when I let her down
maybe even take me out to have some fun
Dear God, please send me someone
Dear God, what have I done
