Dear God

Dear Father,
I know it’s been a while
The road’s been tough
It continues for miles

I can’t quite figure out
If I’m taking a break on the side of the road
Or if I’m going a different direction
And decided not to carry this load

Outside the rain is pouring
As if your tears come down at me
And though I’m sad, I keep distant
From you, what I can’t see

Father, you’ve been good to me
Perfect in every way
I’m still not sure what struck my mind
To make me go away

And now I’m gone
I don’t know if you listen still
In lonesome times, I’ll speak to you
My hearts emotions spill

I want to say I love you still
But my actions say I don’t
My mind knows that I need to change
But my heart refuses; I wont
