Dear, Best Friend
Dear, Best Friend
Oh how I miss your precious face
Oh how I long to invade your personal space
Without you I feel so lost and out of place
Long overdue is your warm embrace
No one gets me the way you do
They never will because they're not you
I know you can feel it too
Nothing trumps a friend this true
Your presence I pine to grace
Lingering are memories no one can take or erase
Our souls are intertwined with the strongest of lace
If I haven't told you lately "I love you" just in case
They don't know the things we've been through
No, they haven't a single solitary clue
Our bond neither time nor distance could unglue
No one could come close to filling your shoes
My zesty, comforting, tasteful soul food
At my best or worst, can handle me in any given mood
When you're near I quickly change and check my attitude
For you, I'll always hold the utmost respect and gratitude
