Notes About The Poem

There is only one first birthday for each of us. Only one of each of the others also

Dean's First Birthday

Dean's First Birthday

Today is Dean's first birthday
He just got here a year ago
The son of Bell and Dalton
To carry on the Perry show

For four generations now
Including baby “D”
Boy's, there have been only
I write them here for you to see

His great grandpop is Danny
Darren is his Grandpop's name
Dalton is his father
Dean now carries on the game

No one knows if it will go
Into generation five
Dean's just barely walking
Has only one year, been alive

He's speaking his own language
He'll be speaking English soon
His teeth are now appearing
Feeds himself with fork and spoon

Before we know, he's off to school;
Will read and write, arithmetic
Will drive a car and be our star
Those days will be here, oh so quick

He will travel down the road of life
Will become who he will be
We'll find then, if he'll carry on,
And name a son with letter “D”

Happy Birthday Dean!!!
From Pop Pop Frank
great grandfather from
your mother's side of the family
