Dealing With Discouragement
DEALING WITH DISCOURAGEMENT
Do you feel downhearted at this time now in your life?
Is your heart all burdened from the trials and the strife?
Set your focus upward to the Savior on His throne,
Consider those three hours He hung on the cross alone.
Offer up a prayer now to the Savior who is there,
Understand He knows of your burdens and your care.
Realize He loves you and for you He intercedes
At the throne of heaven where He’ll meet your every needs.
God has not forsaken, nor forgotten you are here
Even though you’re hurting with sorrow or with fear.
Meet Him in your prayer time--you know He is the same;
Each day will go better when you call upon His name.
Never will He leave you, so my friend be sure
That the Savior loves you, His mercy doth endure.
Discouragement is common, we all face it sometimes
In our daily hustle, and it is never kind.
Sometimes we will wonder, “Does God really care?
Can He really hear me as I bow in prayer?”
Our life may have heartaches, we may not know why,
Understand the purpose for the times we cry.
Remember, though, God’s sovereign, He is in control,
And He’ll come to comfort your weary, troubled soul.
God’s love is unending, He is always here;
Each time that you need Him, He is always near.
Moment now by moment seek His loving face;
Each trial you may encounter you can trust His grace.
No, He has not left you, to you His ear is bent,
There He’ll be the closest in your discouragement.
An acrostic of DISCOURAGEMENT.
