Dead In His Tracks

Racing Proud Mammoth
                         once steamed across wild prairie
                            stopped dead in his tracks

Anon, thank you so much for your contribution of your Haiku poem 'Dead in his Tracks'. This poem gave me such a visual impact of a once proud, now abandoned locomotive. I can clearly imagine it through your impact of words. Once powerfully steaming to its destination...a destination of abandonment. I imagine it sitting on a sidetrack somewhere, only to be found in the thick of an overgrown wilderness. It is a sad but powerful write in a few words. Again, congratulations on your placement!
