Dead

to see you grieve for you son
in wordless screams
makes my heart quiver
my hands sweat
your hair has gone white
your words slow and soft
no sparkle in your smile or eye
but how could there be
and yet
I am so proud that you allow yourself
to be lost in sorrow
drowning
gagging
suffocating
at this loss
no amount of time will heal

here
I will hold you when you let me
I am your friend
you are still a father, even if he is dead
and I will hold you when you let me.

That's so sad. Good for you for being a friend.

Very difficult for a person to lose a close relative especially a child. Good that you can be there for them. Good topic on which to write. Keep the creative and magical pen flowing. Sara
