DEACON DEDICATION Deciding to appoint you was done with thought and prayer, Each aspect of your lifestyle was all considered there. And now you have the office to serve the pastor here, Consider it an honor and serve the Lord with fear. Our prayers will all be for you and for your family Now serving in this office here now at HBC. You’ve heard the pastor’s message, his challenge there that night, And you can be quite certain you’re in now for a fight. For Satan will not like it that you are chosen now; He’ll use his every weapon to ruin you somehow. You’ll be in a great limelight to every one you meet. And there are many new ways the devil can defeat. So as you fill this office with all that it demands, Hold high the church’s teaching and on Christ firmly stand. And I hope that our friendship will be one you can trust, That you can call upon me at any time you must. When you need prayer or comfort, encouragement or cheer, I want to be one of many that you will come to here. Determine now to follow the Lord with all your heart, Each day desire to serve Him and never from Him part. And trust His strength and power to help you live for Him; Christ will give you the power to fill this job you’re in. Our people have selected you out for God today; Now serve Him and our family in every word and way.
