Dazzle of the Deep Field

They aimed the lens where nothing burned,
where all was void, and stars unlearned,
a silence vast, to dark returned…
and yet within that hollow span,
the galaxies began.

From ash to bloom, the silence stirred,
a hidden hymn the void had heard,
then softly rose a shining word-
“Even the hollow learns to keep
the promises that sleep.”

The night held me in its hands,
faith a brittle leaf in wind.
Prayers were seeds scattered on stone.
Yet somewhere, roots found the dark
and a small dawn broke through.

The universe repeats this song:
that nothingness is never wrong,
the dark can hold what waits too long,
a spark, a soul, a breath, a name,
all rising from the same.

I watch the hidden corners of the dark,
I find the glow the dark has held
and what I feared was gone returns
the beauty born of blackest space,
the hush that hides its grace.
