Days of Times Past
The world is full of failure and downfall of lost
dreams, memories of those wonderful
songs of long ago.
Those great days of summer when school
was forgotten, oh what a time that was,
when our parents told us to be
careful and go-slow.
The movies on Saturday afternoon, was our place
to be, afterwards a trip to our music store,
to listen to our favorite group.
Downtown was busy, not like now, so many
stores to shop in, riding the elevator up and
down, just for the fun of it, or just riding
in our car on Saturday night around the loop.
Saturday afternoon we sometimes watched
Dick Clark's Bandstand, those couples danced
so well. loved it when they would rate a song,
it's so hard to believe those days are gone as well
as our youth, my friends are no where to be found,
and many have passed on, those days were great,
we had a life time ahead of us, now
they are long gone.
