Days of Long Ago
Remember the days of long ago
When we would sit and dream?
We'd rock upon our summer porch
And eat our own ice cream.
We'd watch the birds work and play
And we'd listen to the trees.
Sometimes, we'd just close our eyes
And feel the gentle breeze.
Remember the summer nights
When the stars would shine so bright?
The crickets would sing their noisy song
Until the morning light.
We'd walk along the garden path
Underneath the moon.
And we'd listen to the lonely owl
Hoot his eerie tune.
The world has quickly sped on by
Without us really knowing.
We've been left to wonder where we are
And where it is we're going.
