~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sleepy eyes, unhurried by the light,
Stirring the morning with song,
Dazzling shafts charm away the bleak night.
Whispered prayers are morning’s birthright,
She sighs across souls all her lifelong.
Sleepy eyes, unhurried by the light.
Glistening stars rouse poetry which I write,
Fragile as the moon who boasts of being strong.
Dazzling shafts charm away the bleak night.
Reflections of grace I see in hindsight,
Breaking through the mist, joy to prolong,
Sleepy eyes, unhurried by the light.
Serenity in the heart, there in black and white,
Scented by soft hopes and prayers, never wrong.
Dazzling shafts charm away the bleak night.
Hastening across the lives, beautiful and bright,
Remembering the souls who seem so headstrong…
Sleepy eyes, unhurried by the light,
Dazzling shafts charm away the bleak night.
