Day and Night
that early light born
as the day begins to wake,
stretching itself out
the sky shining bright,
the sun smiling from above,
on the world below
the blooming flowers
were happy as the wind played,
coaxing butterflies
the grass waved kindly
at the crowds passing nearby
as the day went on,
the sun moved westward
while counting each passing hour
and laid down to sleep,
the moon took over,
sharing the night together
with glittering stars,
the night passed away,
leaving the new day to grieve
again, on its own.
