Day 4 Beneath the Beautiful
Somewhere beyond the city life
Are kids who barely thrive
Their feet massage the earth
With hope they barely have
In their smile beauty reside
On their skin; a curse they cannot hide
Ignorance; the predator to their innocence
Still lingers on the minds of their guardians
As we are busy being the city’s audience
They slip unnoticed, beneath our nonchalance
