He can see your potential Lifts that hasp off your box His message is freedom. His message is love.. And he'll throw up a good word To the throne room above And the thing about Dave is.. He is gentle and kindly But when it comes to The Fight He's right there behind me So we all need a Dave. That friend who is faithful.. To encourage our journey When life's more than a handful For a calm thoughtful spirit. For that uplifting tone.. Friendly words that remind; We are never alone Our Dave is all wisdom. In his guidance we trust. But there's a thing to accept And remember, we must.. To be someone's Dave There's a reason he blesses.. It's the fire that smelts All that metal so precious Every Dave has a story. You can see through those eyes It's the forge that has shaped A demeanour so wise Persistence in struggle.
