Daughter
Daughter, I want for you love and laughter
I wish for your happily ever after
I want you to hold your head high
And look people in the eye
Treat others with kindness and grace
Don’t fall on your sword just to save face
Above all, live life out loud
Walk tall and be proud
Never forget how far you have come
Never give up until you are done
Mom, thank you for the gifts you gave
The safe and loving home you made
You showed me how to love and give
By example, with the life you live
I’m inspired by all that you do
And proud to be even a little like you
I can’t tell you just how much it means
That you’ve always helped me chase my dreams
It doesn’t matter how old I get
I can never fully repay the debt
You have always stood by my side
To face the world instead of hide
Daughter, I wish for you a life of joy and peace
May your blessings never cease
I hope that all your dreams come true
Whatever that means for you
Don’t follow the same path as me
Save yourself the misery
Remember not to lose yourself
You don’t need to be anyone else
I hope you find your forever love
And you get everything you’re dreaming of
No matter where you go in this world
You will always be my little girl
