Darling

Pain and sorrow felt in the deepest parts unknown,
darling close your eyes,
darkness has closed in,
my love for you is deep,
even until the end,
my rainbows are all but lost,
no more fight in the valley of the loss,
you closed your eyes in this life for the last time,
as the light in your eyes became strangely dim,
I saw you simply fly away,
with dove like wings on fields of play,
so much left to do,
so much left to say,
I drifted off to sleep and dreamed a dream of you,
I dreamed that we were laughing at a table just for two,
letting go,
sweet surrender,
April showers,
snow flakes in December,
the life that we shared,
I will always remember,
the love of my life,
see you soon,
my eyes now have closed with yours for the very last time too.
