Darkness Creeps Into the Eve

The eastern sky is smiling
As the blue begins to fade
Darkness creeps into the eve'
Like a willow masked in jade

Hues of red and orange
Brighten up the moon
As if the sky was all lit up
By a giant white balloon

As I sit and watch the wings of bats
Swerving through the sky
I'd paint a forever smile...on the moon
If only I could fly

I love the moon and I love this poem, Charlie. I always feel smiled upon by the graceful presence of Luna. If I ever see a smile, I'll know who put it there' Cheers, brother ~ John
