Darkness

Darkness is the presence that was divided
                        from the light on Day 1 of creation
			and was named “night” by God, the Creator;
			the veil that descends, as He intends,
			dismissing sun’s last rays at close of day.
			Darkness dwells its allotted time
		        and departs, relinquishing Earth to the light.
			Darkness is the cover under which
			mankind unleashes unspeakable evil,
			not in accordance with the Creator’s intentions.

He created light to expose the dark. Your verse illuminates that superbly. Blessings Carl

Clever use of imagery to depict the good and evil. Thankfully, every night is followed by light as you aptly describe in your poem.
