Dark Life
Falling out of the cage I left behind,
Running from the bottomless pit I call my mind.
Cool crisp wind shakes the floor beneath,
Hot gasps for fresh air leave an imagination so deep.
If I look back, I may feel the iciest burn.
If I look back, I may never return.
The color drains from my fingers in this lost land.
The only time it was alive was when you held my hand.
Watch out for the eerie man,
He will wreck you more than anyone can.
Spiral out of dizziness before you can be seen,
Close your eyes as tight as you can and hope it is all a dream.
On your knees, you tremble and plead.
Behind you appears the shadow of man's greed.
The second before the light bursts through and leaves you to die,
Those eyes open up and in a cold bed you lie.
