Dark Days

I sit alone in the dark,
In the dungeon cold and damp,
I hear the drips and the rats,
And I wish I owned a lamp.

My punishment was unjust,
And my thoughts are dark as night,
I’m starving, chained and afraid.
In my dreams, I dance in light.

Sounds like a medieval prison; bad place to be chained up in and you make it so real. Great one for the contest and I wish you all the best! :)

I like how you did yours. I am thinking she wants something really descriptive and am at a loss on what to do myself. Anyway, I just love your simplistic technique, Jack!
