Dark and Stormy Night

Dark and Stormy was the night, Black people sought diligently for the light. Looked high and low with all their might, Only to discover no light in sight. Then deciding to take flight, Seeking and searching out anything bright. They arrived in a place called "All was alright," Only to find all people were white. There they got into a terrible fight. On a dark and stormy night. Black people were hung, lynched, shot and killed; While white people had their pleasures fulfilled. As if killing blacks was a thrill; 'Till someone shouted...."white people; "chill." It was the Black President who sat on the Hill. The whites did not want to entertain his spill. So he went to his desk and wrote a bill, That authorized blacks to do what they will. To end the mess that we were in, And turn to Jesus, our only friend. Who would come and save us from this sin, And give us a new way to live and begin. And we would no longer have to defend; Our "Ill," our "End," our "Fight" On this dark and stormy night.
