Dansaq
Her whirling dress made my head spin—
The girl danced to an ancient prayer.
Pink, yellow, and hues of blue
Circle as men began to cheer.
She spun faster and faster against
The sunlit wall of cut stone,
To the ancient Inca prayer chanted
By a moaning crone intone.
A thousand yard stare the crone gave
To the glorious men of the audience.
Looking upon the whirling young girl
Who exudes the aura of godliness.
Fast as a spinning top—motions blur.
The crowd chants along with the crone;
As the young girl danced out her life
Against—the sunlit wall of cut stone.
