We're under a tornado watch until 1 today The thunder now rolls, and the clouds are gray The rat terrier is terrified of what is to come She can't be comforted which is glum I wish I could help her overcome her fear She has a place in my heart very dear I feel some fear as well because of danger That could be lurking, so many lives endanger Some places had flooding from these storms There has been tornado to form Dear Lord, help protect us today Don't let there be loss of life, I pray Continue to protect animals and property I enjoy feeling Your presence as fatherly Amen

Great prayer, Sara. I know my home state Iowa had recent tornados and storms. It must be so scary!

Andrea, Even lightning can cause some major damage at times so no storm should be considered lightly. I have seen it on the news how so many tornadoes have been reported and how some have touched down. Thanks for dropping by and taking time to comment. Sara K

Phyllis, we have had about 4 to touch down in the county where I live that I can recall. Two of which were really bad and the other two not as bad. Lots of property damage but no injuries or death that I know of. Two of those did come close to where we were living. God protected us. Our son-in-law's brother was killed in one, one county below us. Sara K

Yann, I have seen the end results of tornadoes. In the past two have come very close to our home but went around our homes both times. The devastation from one can be horrible and at times there are loss of life or injuries. Yes, God can protect us in those circumstances. Thank you for stopping by and taking time to comment. Sara K

Thank the Lord, we have no tornados in Malta. But how well you describe that storm.

I looked it up and it is rare to have a hurricane in your area, but it is not called a hurricane, so they say. Sara K

Yes, Victor, not having tornadoes there is a good thing but since it is an island you probably have hurricanes to come through from time to time or do you. Thanks for the visit and taking time to comment. Sara K

sounds like you live in Texas. During April & May seems like we're under a tornado warning or watch every day...experiencing one this afternoon. Might get a little violent out there. Love how you captured the suspense of an impending storm. Wishing you well, Sara B

Sara B., I have seen how there has been flooding in Texas and out west the flooding and tornadoes as well. I don't know what part of Texas you are from, but some of those houses were up to their roofs in water. Thanks for the visit. Sara K

Dear Sara, A really moving poem! It conveys the anxiety and suspense of a storm watch superbly. You obviously want to make sure that everyone impacted by these storms is safe, not just yourself.

It is so sad to hear of the loss and pain when one does touch down, Lasaad. So many have been affected this past week all over the USA. Thanks for the visit. Sara

I think it was worse on you up in that area of our state. We were hit this afternoon but not a bad storm just the lightning and thunder. Thanks for dropping by. Sara K

Dear Sara, What a powerful poem! It perfectly captures the tension and worry of a storm watch. The image of the terrified rat terrier is so relatable, and your desire to comfort her really shows the depth of your love. It's clear you care not just for your own safety but for everyone affected by these storms. The closing prayer is beautiful and heartfelt. It leaves me with a sense of hope and faith in the face of danger. - Blessings, Daniel

Daniel, It wasn't as bad for us today as it was for some areas where tornadoes touched down. In north Georgia one touched down last night (if I am not mistaken). It moved down to our area during the morning and afternoon. We are still expecting more tonight and into Friday. I don't think the threat will be as bad though. Thanks for the visit. Sara
