Dancing With the Devil
Are we born to compete with each other
is that why they call us a race,
most of us think life is too short
yet we keep on increasing the pace.
Always seeking adventure
the more danger the less compromise,
but if you dance with the devil
why is losing such a surprise.
People live at the foot of mountains
some far too close to the sea,
knowing the dangers from nature
do we think it won’t happen to me.
To some people life is cheap
they eliminate opposition,
Instead of helping each other
treating life as a competition.
If there is a God out there
who gave life to me and you,
surely the one rule he would apply
would be taking a life is taboo.
