Daily Prayer

When I
wake each morning
The first thing that I do
is to fold my hands together
And have a talk with you,
I do thank you,
Dear God.

Your love
Many blessings
from the heavens above
I know that you are listening
when I ask your guidance
for this new day,
Bless me.

My faith
will never stray
as sorrow besets me
and at the closing of this day
loneliness shadows me
I come to you,
Save me.

The dawn,
A brighter day,
after the darkest night
often is the time God answers
calming every worry
with quiet grace
to cope

with life's
earthly journey,
The pinnacle of pain,
And to find comfort in the truth,
Do good for the people,
Eternal flame
to burn.
