Daffodils

Oh, brilliant sun, do not burn too hot
The ice may have thawed
But be temperate.

The daffodils soared from the ashes of snow
But the coming of summer is how they will go.

Oh, brilliant sun, do not burn too hot
Diminish the cold,
But the daffodils not.
