Daddy Didnt Stay

I never had a dad I don’t know what one is I can only imagine Of what it really means. My mum she cared for me Showed me right from wrong But daddy didn't do that Cos daddy was long gone I used to watch my friends Look at their dads in awe But I never understood Why they did that for. As time went on and I grew up I longed to know the meaning Of a man who’s strong and proud The meaning of a dad But that just wasn't meant to be Because daddy doesn't know There’s a little girl in the world One he can call his own Though would I really want to Pursue a man so mean A man who deprived his children Of a life they can only dream I can’t decide if I should meet This man who is my father I guess only time will tell If things were meant to be But for now I will live With this dream inside my head A dream of a mum and dad Both who are my own. I will not forget That daddy did leave A girl who now only wears Her heart upon her sleeve So thank you mum, for being there even if daddy's away I'm always here to be with you because I know you're here to stay I love you, mum, with all my heart, so please don't leave my side don't turn into daddy, because we all know daddy lied.
