Dad

What makes the ultimate dad?
Does he have to have courage?
Does he have to have understanding?
Or is it because he is the voice of reason,
When none can be found?
Maybe it’s because he is love in the toughest form.
Dad can be your best buddy, personal bodyguard,
Or he can be your unsettling fear when punishment is at hand.
So what makes the ultimate dad?
Maybe it’s the way he knows when you’re mad?
No matter how hard you try to hide it.
Who knows?
Maybe it’s the love,
Or maybe it’s all the above.
