Dad

It slowly slips,
From my eye
A lonley teardrop
I softly cry.

The days are endless
The night so blue
Then I whisper
I miss you.

I close my eyes
I see your face
I'm so lonely
In this emply place.

A sun beam escapes
From the sky
I look to heaven
And ask God Why?

His answer is clear
A whisper in the trees
He needed another angel
To paint the fall leaves.

I force a smile
My pain still real
Someday I see you
In heaven, my dear.
