Cutting Losses

Are we headed in that direction
The end of the world
The loss of perfection
Are we drug down that path
By our belt with foot attached
Have we past the point of no return
Without a choice have chances burned
And losses cost are we to learn
In the boarders cross
Have we really come to that place
To meet that judge face to face
Are our crimes too many to name
Just enough to earn that fame
Why didn't wisdom warn about the game
While we were we brought to shame
What happened to the taught and tamed
Or is there in the end a source of gain
Will tears fill our eyes glory or pain
In that place is it new or the same
Have our lives been spent in vain
Giving to ourselves a kind of disdain
Are we set free or the curse remain
Are we to trust our selves
Or use that Name
