Curtain Call

Maybe the curtains are closing on this final act....
Lord knows, I've tried to hasten the process...
Why am I here and what does it matter?
There's nothing left in which to obsess....
I gave you a key a long time ago, but you lost it or threw it away....
Now I melt into this chair and face the wall....
Awaiting another lost day....
We only have just so long, then we are but a memory...
Try to remember happier days....
Maybe someday you'll remember me....
