Crying Angels

The angels stood at attention
Waiting for the call
To free God's only begotten Son
Who would die for one and all

Imagine how they watched the Lord
Who knew them all by name
As He offered both His hands to them
Who would cause Him so much pain

All of Heaven went silent
As they nailed Him to the tree
I wonder how the angels felt
As they watched His Agony

Jesus could have called them
Ten thousand angels strong
But He knew He had to finish
What He'd waited for so long

And when He said it's finished
He gave up the Ghost and died
It must have looked like rain that day
As ten thousand angels cried

Bar none, the best inspirational poem I have ever read. I would recommend you post this on Rapture Ready. I am not a member of the site..my wife is. She asked permission to be able to post on that site. You have wrtten a truly beautiful and uniquely creative work that I have no doubt was aided by a higher hand. Congratulations, you are a rare talent. Keep writing my friend. I am listing you and your poem as my favorites. Mac
