Crush
In this, our lives, we emphasise
complexities of where's and whys;
excuses, lies and alibis
emotions made to compromise.
When all we really need to do,
accept ourselves and see it through,
and face the facts that tell it true,
this mutual crush on me and you.
If pain and chaos seem to reign
then maybe we should not abstain,
throw caution to the wind again
for friendship ties will yet remain.
Love expressed and thus repressed
should be set free, should be confessed,
and run it's course, for more or less,
unless we try we fail, we guess.
Unless we chance, we won't achieve,
loss of faith, we won't believe;
wear the heart upon the sleeve,
resist the urge to self deceive.
Time is ours, take it slow,
hold on tight, go with the flow,
for history just goes to show:
nothing ventured...never know...
