Crossroads

Standing at the crossroads,
Burdens heavy on my mind,
Answers distant and illusive,
Peace and comfort, hard to find.

Stuck firm in indecision,
No more tears left to cry,
The pain that crushes me,
Begs to take wing and fly.

Anger turned to apathy,
Happiness died of natural causes,
Reasons are mangled and torn,
Thoughts battered as life pauses.

Lord, time is your gift of healing,
You’re still here, by my side,
My aching heart is calmed,
Within it, You quietly abide.

Your peace breeds understanding,
Your mercy gives me hope,
I am Your servant, Lord…praise
Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

Your grace finds the lost,
Your love strengthens the weak,
Your wisdom guides us forward,
With words You never speak.
