Crossroads

Funny how time and tide doth turn
For a fool who tries to mask a burn
In smile, in laugh, pretended peace
While maggots feast in leisured ease.

I knew my doom was tightly sealed
The day I dreamt the dreamless dream
I watched my spirit caged and wheeled
Away beyond the bridgeless stream.

I wish I had a token left
A shred of me before that theft
To give to you my treasured friend
For all your woes for being my friend.

I wish, I wish, I wish I can
I know, I know, I know I can
But how? But how? I know not how.
I bleed to see the future now!
