Crossroads '24

In America,
every major election year
or cycle promises the electorate
to be the most important election
in the history of the country; that
there has never been a more crucial
time to make one's voice heard.

Every generation
appears to believe that
it is the greatest generation,
and none before the one in existence
had greater causes, challenges, or
issues to control, conquer, or defeat.

Let's leave it to God
and the historians to decide on
Who or what is the greatest generation?

There was once a king named David
who gathered and appointed to his
staff those who had 'understanding
and knowledge of the times'. May our
present would-be leaders do the same.

Notwithstanding, perhaps the real question
to those of us who happen to be in the present
generation is, "What role are we to play?".

Am I just here to be affected by and simply
experience whatever is set before me?
I think not. As we stand at the crossroads,
positioned to make a move, may God give us
'insight and understanding of our times'.

Moreover, do I, or am I to know if I
have been placed in this arena, in this
kingdom, on this planet, for such a time as this?
I believe that, indeed, each of us has been uniquely
placed and positioned by God to do His bidding.

God's call and biddings would apply to
any people of any nation. From where I sit,
in America, there is no doubt that a puzzling
stage has been set for each of us to step upon
and exercise what God has said in our hearts.

Dear Curtis, this is an insightful reflection on the recurring significance attributed to major elections and the belief in each generation's unique challenges. Your words draw parallels with historical narratives, urging introspection on the role of the present generation. The reference to King David's wise choices adds depth to the plea for leaders with understanding. It sparks contemplation about our purpose in this pivotal time, For we are placed in this arena for a reason. Blessings, Daniel
