Crossing

I have crossed beyond the scope
Trod my wayward beaten path alone
Fastened many knots along my rope
Looking for my home
Time creeps onward passing men like me who mope

I have tried to cross my scope
Satisfy my hunger I want more
Feed my endless need for greater hope
It’s worth it I swore
Fatigue is draining me wary of the slope

I have crossed and reached my shore
Somewhere near I feel my fond felt home
Knotted rope unfurling as I roam
Wayward trodden done
Need I leave behind me; needing nothing more

Sometimes we feel that we want more, David, sometimes, we already have it. This is deep, introspective writing. May you find peace and blessings this holiday and alw ays! Love, Audrey
