Cross To Bear

So he had a cross to bear,
Who doesn't? I need to ask.
For opinions all to share,
Their true selves not to mask.

And under such weight to lift,
One and all we make our way;
As if to the world it's our gift,
Like we've important things to say.

For heard I have from the many,
Opinions different and the same,
But who to follow I won't any,
Upon my path I will remain.

For I've my own cross to bear
Upon this path in yards or meters;
And like the rest I'm apt to share -
Don't follow friggin' leaders!
