Critique

When finishing a project That’s all yours and thus unique, The last thing that you want to hear’s A negative critique. Yet when you’re going public Anyone can have his say Despite the fact the way he feels May spoil your lovely day. In giving an opinion Sometimes holding something back Is better than the words which seem Too much like an attack. For honesty, at times, can cause A person to be hurt, The outcome I would do my best To very much avert.

An astute observation and a nudge to those of us who may be prone to be overly heavy-handed when commenting about another's output. We would do well to consider the possible/probable outcome of indelicate/insensitive critiques. And your poem, with its important message, is indeed an example of masterful technique and superior ability. Thank you.

I think sometimes we feel we are on good enough terms with someone that we overstep our boundaries. I really find it hard to believe that anyone actually sets out to hurt another's feelings. I guess i want to think the best about folks. Another masterful rhyme Ilene. Hopefully i haven't said anything to hurt your feelings. If so, I am truly sorry.

I so agree Ilene. Words can come back to bite you or haunt you. Unless a critique is helpful I don’t feel it is necessary. But when I do get a hurtful comment I just consider the source and may choose to ignore it. Wise words from you so elegantly written in this wonderful poem my friend. Have a wonderful week!
