Critical Race Theory In 15 Lines

Critical Race Theory has been around for a long time, Taught in college and university Departments of Sociology Very obtuse and obscure, as far as academic theories go; To understand it well requires a degree in anthropology, Or, if you choose, Origins in Anthropology and Psychology. It is a discipline, an academic tool, which outlines parameters Within which one can begin to understand race bias and culture And, systemic racism, to be sure; subjects needed to understand Why deep divisions between the races fester and are nurtured In America, where race issues hover us like a vicious vulture. Like so many academic ideologies, i.e. the God Is Dead movement, Critical Race Theory has been seized upon by conservatives as a Cause celebre, with few of them understanding what it is all about, And become a buzzword for racial unrest fomenting in the BLM, While, actually, it is a theory for discussion in highest level academia. written June 26, 2021 for "Critical Race Theory (CRT) poetry contest sponsored by Anthony Biannco HONORABLE MENTION "CRT False Flag Folks" Poetry Contest All Poetry November 4, 2021

well said...it seems like thinking and having an intellectual discussion is becoming something to fear, and is the first sign to burning all the books...good luck in the contest

So true, Frederic. The hue and cry is "should it be allowed in the elementary schools," etc. Personally, I doubt that many elementary teachers, much less children, would be intellectually mature enough to assimilate the foundations of this theory. It is quite obtuse. And before I get flamed, I don't mean this a slap at elementary school teachers. Hey, I have a doctor's degree in theology, and I find it extremely difficult. I don't want to get hung up in this theory that is being ripped by the far-right, almost all of whom do not understand it.

Yes, it is sad. I know very little about the many-faceted layers of CRT. What I did was a bit of superficial research and just put down what I learned in that form. It's a very complicated theory, and I don't think most of us could really do it justice. It will be interesting to see what Anthony chooses.

What a marvelous bit of luck for me: I was just reading about the history of CRT in the WSJ today, and now you have provided me a great review of the subject matter! Thank you for services rendered.
