Crawling Through Mud

When did I feel this low and black? Lost and hopeless with no way back Crawling through mud and sliding through grime It’s never been as bad as this time Pinned to the ground by a crushing weight Brought to my knees by life and cruel fate Unable to rise to clear my eyes And yet no one comes despite my cries The weight bears down heavier still Trying so hard to crush my will The muck now crawls across my face Slowly but surely its winning this race As I’m sucked beneath the muck and grime I whisper her name one last time.
