Crashing Cars

Crashing Cars By Kevin Robey November 21, 2013 Absorbing the aftermath of this dashboard story This last car crash our attendance mandatory The funeral awaits as the past is laid to waste Every love embrace now leaves a bitter taste Ambulance chaser off to the next catastrophe The sirens SOS replaying patterns he’ll never see I’ll repair my broken legs and simply walk away She will lead the way, but he will never stray It started with a kiss with promises of bliss We drove for that cliff impossible to miss Why was I surprised I saw your last crash You loved me before that car burned to ash You think you’re a fearless adrenaline junkie But I see the soft landing beneath the debris You won’t crash alone or burn on your own So you leave behind your lies made of stone Crash down on me memories from the sea That hollowed this valley where I can be free I’ll shine through the darkness back into the flames Despite all the pain, I’ll still remember your name
