Thank you Heidi, I've never encountered that problem and hope I never do as I fly a lot, don't think I'll be flying much this year though. We've got summer weather at the moment but no doubt we'll pay for it. Hope you are okay. Tom

Congratulations on your win. Back in the 70's, I did a crash landing. We all lived. We came out white as ghosts from it. Enjoy your win and day........

Thank you Aditi, I've heard of this happening but when the hydrolics stick they can be operated manually. Bit of damage to the undercarriage but everyone survived without a scratch. Tom

Horrifying experience when it happens! Thank God I was lucky for although I have been flown around the world for fifty years nothing like that took place while I was in the plane! Very dynamic verse my friend, Tom!

This is why I'm afraid to fly, Tom. It's been 12 years since I've been on a plane. I even wrote a poem titled Afraid to Fly. I know I'll have to face that fear one day! xx Rhonda

Thank you very much Joseph, what spooks me when if I'm sat in the middle and cabin crew ask if I'm OK to open the door in an emergency, doesnt bear thinking about. Tom

It sure can be nerve wracking Tom - you explain it so well. We had a similar exp. landing at Johannesburg airport from Cape Twon, - We were moments away from a slow taxing Lufthansa plane crashing into us as we were slowing down, Lufthansa put on brakes and the Captain said "whew, that's a relief, he was a bit big for us to take on". Blessings, Jennifer.

Hi Tom: A very dark and satirical poem. I had that experience on my way to Colombia, SA but the pilot reassured us not to worry. Keep writing!

Thanks Gershon, it's a company that makes those public address systems and the word is used here anyway to discribe all p/a systems. Tom

The pilot make ALL the difference. On one flight where we were being tossed about like a bubble on the high seas during the dead of night, the pilot kept us laughing by asking, e.g., if anyone saw any lights to let him know immediately as cockpit lights and communications were out and he needed to at least know if we were flying upside down or not. His levity kept everyone from panicking! Aloha! Rico
