Covid 19 Covid 19

Covid 19
Covid 19
Pandemonium erupts
Toilet paper is king
Churches are cancelling
The choirs cannot sing

Covid 19
Covid 19
The last known hand sanitizer
Has been stolen out of the hands of a dead woman
A woman who was alive when she picked it up
But the man had an ax and was not afraid to use it

Covid 19
Covid 19
Schools are closing down fast and hard.
People are buying all the peanut butter they can carry
Family reunions are being cancelled
And brides and grooms are not allowed to marry

Covid 19
Covid 19
Such a pandemic of thoughtlessness
I had previously never seen
The level of angst and fear so high
The atmosphere quite mean

Covid 19
Covid 19
My heart is heavy today for the children so young
Who have no idea that celebrating no school is eventually going to be no fun
For one day they will have to make up what they miss today
Most likely their summer vacation they will have to pay

Thank you so much! My husband just returned home from a supermarket that is expecting three trucks tonight. It is an empty store!

I am staying in my house for the next three weeks, going no where. My daughter is a public health specialist. She says if we would all do this, it would be over!

This is sad but true. We have a big stash of canned spam. The best way to beat it is to get ahead of it and stay home. I couldn't get inspired enough to come up with anything for this contest. Stay safe. Happy St. Patrick's Day Caren. xxoo

I am staying here in my house, not doing anything for the next three weeks. I want to aid in the healing of this frenzy.

I had six giant jars, but my daughter's family needed toilet paper so I took them TP and 3 of the giant jars of PB. It helps to have family members who know you well. I knew they would need something.

Thank you Eve. I said "Is this too violent" but then my husband said he heard people are buying guns. WHAT?

At the moment all residents in our apartment complex are on alert to follow recent instructions, though many elderly ignore them. All stores, school, churches are closed (except markets and pharmacies). No hardship for me, yet at least, I have all my needed medications for the next few months. Thanks for the kind and generous words. Some poems pour out of me like tap water; other like molasses in January. I take it all in stride and do my best. Keep safe and healthy from this virus. / M
