Courage and Hope

Airplanes slammed into the North and South Towers,
horrible screams rose and pierced the smoky air;
sirens wailed, the airborne enemy had stricken twice
to afflict death upon the innocent and unaware!

Whenever we go back, we don't see that empty space,
the foundations of the towers violently shake,
who can imagine the terror on each face?
They reach out for those helping hands of grace!

The survivors met face to face with Hell and were grateful
to the ones who gave up their lives and dignified call;
and those who died will be rewarded by a merciful God:
is the One who blessed the peace-makers and cursed the bad!

Let's all remember what happened on that tragic day,
and if we still shed tears and sorrow persists in us today:
let's be glad that they paved our way with awareness,
giving us courage and hope and these are priceless virtues!
